    Securing Office (2000)

    Hi,

we have a number of very importand excel documents that are being inadvertantly changed by users who don't know they are doing it.

is there a way to lock down what a user can do in office, other than restricting the permissions at file level?

    Regards,

    David

    Hi David

For an overview of spreadsheet protection see Protecting cells, sheets, workbooks, and files and Spreadsheet Protection FAQ by John Walkenbach

Password protection for Excel worksheets is not very strong and passwords are easy to crack with the right tools. For the average user this protection should suffice.
