Showing Multiple addresses (Outlook Express V6)

Hi, I have an Address group that I use to send out an Email to a number of people.

I would much prefer that instead of every one see who else got the Email if only the recipients name was shown at the top. Is there a switch somewhere that I haven't located yet that only displays the one name?

I suppose it could be done by BCC 'ing them all rather than using To:-

I wonder if anyone know an answer?

    Many Thanks

Unfortunately, no. The best workaround is to put your name in the To field and everyone else in the BCC field.

To send individual messages, you can try Word's merge-to-email or obtain some "mass mailing" software. In the latter case, beware of spam filters that downgrade messages generated by those programs.

Thanks for the reply - I thought that might be the answer. However you have given me a pointer in the right direction. As it happens all the addresses are stored in an Access Database. So mail merge could well be the answer.

I shall try and report back!

    Thanks again

Well I'm getting there. The Mail merge works fine, the only thing is that I get a message in a box headed Outlook Express saying " A program is attempting to send a Email message on your behalf". There are two buttons at the bottom of the box saying send Don't send. The snag is you have to click on every address to send them. Surely there must be a way round this!

I didn't realize Outlook Express had this feature; I thought it was limited to Outlook. There is a program called ClickYes that has been recommended on the Outlook board, and also one from Basta named something like BuzOf (sp?), both of which I believe can be programmed to click the button for you. (Try a search on the Outlook board for links to the relevant sites.)
