Activation (windows xp Home Edition (SP1))

For a while now, every so often when I try to log on sometimes I get a message that windows needs to be activated do I wish to activate now, but when i click yes it says windows already activated. This has been just a nuisance but today an icon has appeared on the task bar saying activation due in 3 days. I am worried in 3 days something dreadful will happen. Do i need to do anything?

Latest message on log on screen is "Your windows product must be activated within 3 days. Do you want to activate windows now ?" I click yes and reply is "windows is already activated. click on OK to exit"

There may be a problem with the files that deal with activation, you can re-register them by selecting Start > Run... and entering the following in the dialog box and clicking OK

    regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll

    Then repeat the process with:

    regsvr32.exe licdll.dll

This repairs registry entries for the activation.DLLs
