Re: History of entry (2000 sr 1)

We're going to create two queries for TOTALE:

First, create a query based on TOTALE; add SERVIZIO and DATA_MODIFICA to the query grid.
Make the query into a Totals query (View | Totals)
The Totals option for SERVIZIO should be Group By (default setting)
The Totals option for DATA_MODIFICA should be Max.

This query will return the date of the most recent record for each SERVIZIO. Save this query.

Next, create a new query and add both TOTALE and the query you just saved.
Join them on SERVIZIO and on the date field.
Add all fields from TOTALE to the query grid

This query will return the most recent record for each SERVIZIO.

You will also have to create two similar queries for CDI_50.

If you want to use Access, you will have to learn how to create queries yourself.

    What problem do you have?

I am willing to teach you how to do things, but I am not willing to do your work for you. If you tell me what your problem is when you try to create the first macro, I will try to explain what to do.

I don't know Italian. Here is what Babelfish made of it, with a few modifications by me:

Generare due domande (queries) per TOTALE:

In primo luogo, generi una domanda (query) basata su TOTALE; aggiunga SERVIZIO e DATA_MODIFICA alla griglia di domanda.
Trasformi la domanda una domanda di totali (Visualizza | Totali)
L'opzione Totali per SERVIZIO dovrebbe essere Group By, dai l'opzione Totali per DATA_MODIFICA dovrebbe essere Max.

    Questa domanda restituir

    It is a start.

You haven't changed the first query to a Totals query yet.

Re: History of entry (2000 sr 1)

From a macro in the userform i insert many value in the field NOTE_BOU, SPESE, DATA_ATT, COD, and NOTA_LIB of every table (TOTALE and CDI_50).
My problem is to maintain an history of various entry for each record (in the every table is present a unique value SERVIZIO)

    For example:

Today i insert from a userform a value in the record with the index 55-01010-03400-2107997836 (is the line 87) in the field NOTE_BOU, SPESE, DATA_ATT, COD, and NOTA_LIB

The next day from the same record i insert a new value in the field NOTE_BOU, SPESE, DATA_ATT, COD, and NOTA_LIB

My problem is to store the old value from each filed NOTE_BOU, SPESE, DATA_ATT, COD, and NOTA_LIB in a new table named STORIA_TOTALE if the DB in question is TOTALE and maintan the must new value in the original table

In the attached file is a MDB with a query suggest me from Hans...

Re: History of entry (2000 sr 1)

When you asked this question in the Excel forum (<post#=428816>post 428816</post#>), I suggested that using a history table was - in my humble opinion - not the best solution. The queries you have found someone else to create for you are meant for the alternative method I recommended. Now, you post exactly the same question again. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

Re: History of entry (2000 sr 1)

My recommendation is to store all records from the L0785_TOTALE worksheet in the TOTALE table, with a date/time stamp. The TOTALE table will contain both the "current" record and the "history" records. The queries you have now can be used to view the "current" record for each SERVIZIO, that is the most recent record for that SERVIZIO.

Storing all records in the TOTALE table is much easier than testing if a record already exists, moving it to another table etc.

    Good morning Hans,
In order "Storing all records in the TOTALE table is much easier than testing if a record already exists, moving it to another table etc."
Only an example for the table TOTALE, is possible? Your way is naturally the best....
