    Numbering sheets (2000/9.0.2720)

    I have a form that I need to print out. However, I need the capability to number the froms from 1 to X. But not w/ a page number. From event to event I will control what the X in 1 to X will be. Currently, I have someone physically numbering the sheets but feel I can automate this if I knew how to do so. Any suggestion/help will be appreciated.

    What is the difference between a page number and someone physically numbering sheets?

    In other words, I don't understand what you want. Are the forms you are talking about forms in the Access sense of the word?

    The forms are reproduced elsewhere. The form is not a merged document wherein I could simply have the page number printed on it where the page number would be known. Instead of having someone numbering from 1 to 1500 or more. I thought once I received the 1500 or more forms from the printshop that I could insert these forms into a local printer and somehow have a formula/macro or something to allow me to number the pages from 1 to X.

    Can I clarify this. The forms are not connected to any existing Access database.

    All you want to do is use Access to print a sequential number on a piece of paper. Each time you do a print you want a mechanism to specify the starting number and the number of sheets to print?
    Regards

    Re: Numbering sheets (2000/9.0.2720)

    You could do this in Access, or in Excel, or in Word. Here is a solution in Access. It consists of 3 objects:
    - A table containing the numbers 1 through 5000.
    - A form with a text box in which the user enters the number of pages to be printed, and two command buttons.
    - A report that will print the specified number of pages, blank except for a page number.

    The code behind the OK button on the form is simple:

    Private Sub cmdOK_Click()
    If Val(Me.txtPages) < 0 Then
    MsgBox "Please enter a positive number.", vbInformation
    Me.txtPages.SetFocus
    Else
    DoCmd.OpenReport "rptBlanks", acViewPreview, , "intPage <=" & Me.txtPages
    DoCmd.Close acForm, Me.Name
    End If
    End Sub
