Locking a sheet, but not the headers/footers (2000)

I am trying to lock down the worksheet which has formulas, but not the sheet's header and footer which I would like the user to be able to change if desired. Is this possible? Thanks!!!

Re: Locking a sheet, but not the headers/footers (

Select the cells that you do not want to be locked, then select Format>Cells... (or right-click the cells and select Format Cells...) and choose the Protection tab. De-select the Locked option.

Now when you select "Tools>Protection>Protect Sheet" those cells will not be locked.

Thanks Tony. I know how to lock/unlock cells on the worksheet, but what about the headers/footers that you access through the view...header and footer option?

The worksheet and workbook protection options do not stop changes being made to the page setup. As far as I know the header/footer options can not be locked so should always be available for the user to change.
