This should probably have been posted in our Spyware forum -- but we don't specialise in browser hijacks!

Suggest you look at this forum: http://forums.net-integration.net/in...p?showforum=32 which does. (There are several others).

Have you tried running Spybot - Search and Destroy and Ad-aware SE Personal? (After installing, make sure you perform their updates before doing the scans). It's probably worth running these before doing a new run of HiJackThis in the way specified by the forum I pointed to.

    Good luck!

I am moving this thread to the Spyware Board as it should receive greater attention there.

If John's suggestions about using SpyBot & AdAware, etc, don't work, check this site that has a lot of additional ways to get rid of the Hijacker.

This may not apply to you, but if you have Spybot S&D, there is a setting that can lock your home page & prevent you from changing it. Open Spybot - Advanced Mode, click on Tools, then IE Tweaks & see if you've checked "Lock IE start page...". Of course, that shouldn't have changed your home page to begin with.

    Re: xp (ie 6)

All the above ideas should be helpful. However, I would like more information.

Is the Tools | Internet Options | Home Page section "grayed out"? That means, you cannot change the home page there even if you wanted to? (That is what Spybot does).

If it is not "grayed out" and you change the home page, does it stay changed until you reboot? That would mean something is running (usually a script) during the reboot sequence that modifies your home page. Script Sentry is something that might catch that in the act -- if that were the case.
