Missing part of name field (A2003)

I'm linking to my Outlook contacts list that contains names such as "John & Jane Doe". However, Access only pulls in the "John &" and omits the "Jane". I assume that is due to using the ampersand character in the Outlook list. Is there any way to force Access to input the text followint the &?

I have some names with an ampersand in my Contacts list, but Access pulls them in correctly (this is in Office XP). Is this the same question as in <post#=430653>post 430653</post#> in the Outlook forum?

    Hi Hans,

It's the same problem. I first started with importing to Access from Outlook, so I thought it was an Access problem. Then I discovered it was the same with exporting from Outlook to anywhere. So I suppose this subject should really be in Outlook.

I'm going back and re-entering the names that are missing after the ampersand, and that seems to cure the problem. However, it is very labor intensive.

    Hi Chuck,

I just ran a test exporting from Outlook to an Excel workbook, and it worked just fine. Names with an ampersand (&) were imported into a first-name column. It sounds like something is amok with your Outlook export process - have you installed the lastest service pack and subsequent fixes from Microsoft?

PS - I'm going to lock this thread since you have a parallel thread going in Outlook.
