    Can't open because of a macro? (2000)

So, I just performed the dreaded update of XP. Now, when I try to open one of numerous XL files, I get the message "This workbook contains a type of macro (Excel version 4 macro) that cannont be disabled nor signed. Therefore, this workbook cannont be opened under High Security Level." Thanks for the info, MS, but how 'bout telling me what to do about it?

Thank goodness for the lounge. So, folks, what's up with this and how do I convince Excel that the files it opened last year can be opened this year too?

Select Tools | Macro | Security..., and set the security level to Medium. You will be prompted if a workbook contains macros, and if you click "Enable macros", the workbook will be opened.
