    Music in attachment (Version 6)

When I receive a message with a Power Point attachment with music playing in the background of the slideshow and I would like to save that music, is it possible? If so, how? Thanks <img src=/S/confused3.gif border=0 alt=confused3 width=45 height=45>

If you save the attachment to disk and, if necessary, change the file extension to PPT rather than PPS, and open it in PowerPoint, you should be able to locate the sound file. Actually, PowerPoint can pull external sound files, so you might not find a sound file on any slide, but you might find a link to one on the web.

Other thought: sometimes it is hard to find the sound file, since it usually is an icon dragged off the visible area of the slide. If you don't find it, check on the PowerPoint board for tips on where or how it might be linked in, and how to uncover objects that are not visible.

I followed your instructions and it worked, I found it. But what I would like is to save that piece of music on my C drive with the rest of my music that I attach to my Emails. I had the option of Copying it and I did but I do not get the option to paste it in my special folder in my Explorer. I also tried to drag it but it doesn't work. Is this even possible to do?

This is beyond my knowledge of PowerPoint. I'm going to move this thread over to the PP board for further input.

Try saving the PowerPoint presentation as a .htm file. As a result, you should get a folder with several files, among which a sound file. You should be able to move this to your preferred folder.
