    Count of Nulls (Excel 2002)

    How do I count the number of cells in a column that have a value, ie. Not Null .
    eg Column C5, C6, and C7 have a value but C8:C11 have no value. The result would be 3 in this case.

    I am an absolute newbie at Excel, but I found the answer, it is the =Count function.

    For the benefit of others: the COUNT function counts the number of non-blank cells with numeric values. Text values are not included in the count. If you want to count ALL non=blank cells, use COUNTA.

    <table border=1><td></td><td align=center>A</td><td align=center>B</td><td align=center>C</td><td align=center>1</td><td align=right>1</td><td>Formula</td><td>Result</td><td align=center>2</td><td align=right>2</td><td>=COUNT(A1:A5)</td><td align=right>2</td><tr><td align=center>3</td><td>
