    legal landscape width (access 2000-2003)

I need to make a report for a table which has LOTS of fields; I want the report to be 2 or more pages, landscape, legal size: so 28" but when I make the report can't get it wider than 21". Is there a default? I realize it's inconvenient to have 2 0r 3 sidewise papers but that way i can see all the fields for all the records in a line.

From Microsoft Access database specifications: the maximum width of a form or report is 22 inch. This limitation has been present in all versions of Access; it has to do with the way the coordinates of controls are stored internally.

You could create two reports with the same layout, each displaying about half of the fields.

Another alternative is to use subreports to get around the 22 inch limit. Each report and each subreport has a 22" limit, but if reports and subreports can grow and shrink, you can have more than 22" at runtime.

How could a report with subreports be more than 22" wide?

With great difficulty! <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15> I was referring to length rather than width and forgot to make that clear in my post.
