No longer shut-off

I just recently did a clean install of Windows ME, all went amazingly well. The one problem that annoys me the most is that my system no longer will automatically shut itself of when I do the shutdown. Can anyone tell me a fix for this?

I think reluctance to shut down is pretty standard for WindowsME; mine has been like that since I bought the machine (factory installed). Any answers?

If you haven't tried yet, I'd suggest going to the Windows Update Site, http://www.windowsupdate.com.

You might also check to make sure all your "Systray" programs are closed down before doing a shutdown, something there could be causing it to hang.
