    Select n number of pages (Word97, SR-2)

    Evening -
    Have long documents of tables & have been trying to figure out how to copy portions of the document, say 10 pages at a time, into a new document. I want to do this so scrolling, refreshing, etc. is faster and less

    Can you divide the document into sections in some kind of logical fashion? It wouldn't be very hard to write a macro that copies the sections one by one into new documents. Pages, and especially multiple pages, just aren't natural objects in Word.

    Thank you, Hans.

    I had seen the Predefine Bkmark for sections and thought that might be the way to go. Is this your suggestion -- using the Bookmark?

    Thanks,
    Curious

    No, I would use the Range property of the section directly. Here is an example macro; you can add bells and whistles yourself (such as error handling, prompting for a folder and a file name).

    Sub ExportSections()
    Dim dCur As Document
    Dim i As Integer
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    Set dCur = ActiveDocument
    For i = 1 To dCur.Sections.Count
    dCur.Sections(i).Range.Copy
    With Documents.Add
    .Range.Paste
    .SaveAs FileName:="C:ExportSection" & i & ".doc", _
    AddToRecentFiles:=False
    .Close SaveChanges:=False
    End With
    Next i
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
    Set dCur = Nothing
    End Sub

    Thank you very much, indeed.

    I shall have a go at it.

    With gratitude, Curious
