    Number field formatting (Word 2002 sp2)

    Hi,
    We have some templates that are automatically populated with some user details, using docvariable fields. One of the fields we currently populate is the user telephone number e.g. 020 8555 5243. I would like to be able to use this field, but only showing the extension number (last 4 digits), using field formatting and switches, but haven't managed it. Is it possible, without having to capture the details separately?

    thanks

    If you store the telephone number without spaces 02085555243, you can display it in the form 020 8555 5243 as follows:

    { DOCVARIABLE Phone # "000 0000 0000" }

    and in the form 5243 as follows:

    { =MOD({ DOCVARIABLE Phone },10000) }

    If you store the phone number in the document variable with spaces, MOD won't recognize it as a number.
