    OL messages don't print WYSIWYG

This occurs periodically and I generally ignore it but I've been asked to explain why it happens.

Sometimes when text in a mail message is in columns...using either tabs or spaces...the columns line up on screen but not on the print out. The Print Preview matches the print out but people don't check there before printing usually.

Converting the typeface to a mono-space font (like Courier New) will make the display and printout match but that's such an ugly typeface...

Why don't the display and printout agree more closely and what can be done about it other than change the type?

    Thanks!

to make them line up you need to use monospaced print as you discovered. the columns are not formatted using tables or anything specail, just the old fashioned way of tabbing when working with plain text messages.
