Cycling through different webpages in a 1 browser

    Hi,
Does anyone know how I can cycle automatically through multiple webpages (in this case webcam pages) in a single web browser. Each webcam needs to show for a specified period of time before switching to another webcam in the same browser window.

I need to display webcams of multiple locations in a cycle. I need to create webpage that when opened shows a webcam (I have the URL to the webcam) and then after a specified period of time (say 30 seconds) automatically loads another webcam URL. The process continues for several webcams and when the last webcam is displayed for the time specified the page loops and starts all over again. This page will be displayed in a kiosk and can't have any user intervention other then the initial start of the browser and loading of the page. HTML would be preferred if possible.

I am not sure where to begin and any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks so much,
    Steve

Re: Cycling through different webpages in a 1 brow

There is a META tag that you can include in the header of your pages that will, after a certain amount of time "refresh" the page. General information can be found here:

META - Metadata @ Web Design Group's HTML 4.0 Reference site

IE needs to be set to allow this: A Description of the Changes to the Security Settings of the Web Content Zones in Internet Explorer 6.

So you would need to set each page to load the next, and so on, and so on.

    Thanks so much.

I was unable to edit the actual webcam page so couldn't add the META tag to it. However, I did, create a frameset in which I added the META tag to load framesets that inturn have in each mainFrame an onload event I found in Dreamweaver which loads the webcam url into the mainFrame. Granted with 12 webcams to cycle through I will end up with 36 different files, but it seems to do what is needed, though from a professional webdeveloper's point of veiw probably isn't the best.

    Thanks again...

Actually, if you have a frameset... there should be a way to have a script in your frameset document that replaces the contents of the frame every so often. I've never tried it, but you could look into it for the next project. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
