You could copy the excel data and paste it into word!
Once in word, select the resulting table, and choose Table | Convert | Table to Text
Specify the delimeter to be the pipe character ( | )
    Choose OK.

See if you can import this into Banner!

Another method using excel would be to go to a different sheet and concatenate all the cells in the column, and then delimit with the char:
    in Sheet2!A1:
    =Sheet1!A1&"|" & Sheet1!B1 & "|" & Sheet1!C1 & "|" & Sheet1!D1 & "|" & Sheet1!E1 & "|" & Sheet1!F1

Add other columns as desired and change the sheet names. Copy this down the rows as much as needed
Then you can file-save as- "TEXT (OS2 or MSDOS)"

Steve's method should work. The only automated way of doing this that I can think of would be a VBA routing to write the file. We would have to have a sample workbook to write it though.
