Version of DB Engine loaded (Office 2003)

I am trying to create forms us MS Outlook using VBA code. How can I tell if I have the correct version of the DB Engine? I want to see if I can have 2000 - 2003 users be able to use the forms.

How do I check of the correct DAO.DBEngine? Where do I go get the correct version and load it?

Access/Office 2000, 2002 and 2003 all use DAO version 3.6. If you set a reference (Tools | References in the Visual Basic Editor) to the Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library, it should work in all three versions.

I tried and look into the Ref. and all I show is MS DAO 3.51 Object Library and its not selected either. Where can I fine and load it?

Maybe re-run the Office 2003 installer and see if there are some components that were omitted? I couldn't find DAO for download in Microsoft's download center, but there was this handy-sounding article: Using ADO with the Microsoft Jet Provider Sample Migrating from DAO to ADO.

Doesn't Jet Service pack 8 include the DAO 3.6 library?

I think you're right! How to obtain the latest service pack for the Microsoft Jet 4.0 Database Engine: Files in the Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
