    Text to Columns (Excel 2K)

    Hi,

I have a list of songs in a word doc that is set up like this:

    1. Song title - Artist

I want to import this list Excel so that I can sort it by song title or artist. I cannot figure it out. Please help!

    Thanks!

Could you attach a small sample document?

I second Hans' request for a sample, but I will speculate that a possible way would be to:
open a blank workbook in Excel
    Open the word document
Select the range of data in word
    copy the selection (ctrl-c)
    goto the open excel file
select cell A1 of a sheet
    Paste (ctrtl-v)
You will probably have to parse the data (separate into the columns)
Data- text to columns (follow the wizard)

Of course, word has some features to parse into a table directly and then you could copy the word table into excel already parsed.
