    Pip Files (Outlook 2003 SP1)

This is a simple question - more of a curiosity than anything. What are all the *.pip files that Outlook (and other Offices apps) have? Do they house specific settings that I might want to back up just before doing a clean-install?

    TIA

Re: Pip Files (Outlook 2003 SP1)

See MSKB article How to reset personal menus in the Office XP and Office 2000 programs. It is for Office 2000 and XP, but I assume it applies to Office 2003 too. The .pip files store which menu items are displayed if you haven't selected "Always show full menus" in the Options tab of Tools | Customize... If you would like to restore your current settings after a reinstall, you should backup the .pip files.
