    Input Mask Character (Access XP)

When would you use the "!" as a mask character? The help files say that it displays the mask from right to left, but always fills from left to right. I have never seen it display from right to left.! What is its purpose....I can not recall ever needing to use it!

See <post#=431874>post 431874</post#>. It is the first one returned in a Searchin this forum for "input mask !" (without the quotes).

Ah...OK. I will find this useful for phone area codes. In SA, some codes have 3 numbers, and others up to 5 numbers...this will seem neater if the codes are displayed aligned right in the brackets... ie !(99000) 900-0000.
    Thanx
