MS Office Shortcut bar

I just installed MS Office XP ugrade, the Shortcut bar has been removed but it is listed under Microsoft Office tools in the Start menu, but does NOTHING when selected.
How does one get it back, I use it a lot.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Re: MS Office Shortcut bar

Don't know if this will help but (Windows98, Office 97) if/when my disappears I click on Start, Programs, Startup and then click on Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar. You may get a window with message along the lines of "Do you want MS Office toolbar to ...on startup?" It may be different with XP but m/be worth a try.

Re: MS Office Shortcut bar

If the Shortcut Bar isn't in startup you can do a search for MSOFFICE.EXE which is the name of the MS Office Shortcut Bar program name and put it in the startup folder. ...Michael

Re: MS Office Shortcut bar

Hmmm... mine's in the Office root folder, dated 02/13/2001 12:58a 226,720 bytes. I also have the one from the previous release (for MS Office 2000 they hid most of the programs in C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOffice1033) dated 02/01/1999 06:53p, 405,560 bytes. Perhaps there was some installation option you need to turn on? ...Michael

AFAIK, it is not installed on the default option but is present for those who want to install it.

Found it, it is on the "Media Content" CD. It has a red X in the setup choices, but when I ran the second CD it was installed. I did NOT run the second CD when I first installed Office XP.
