Can no longer view email after a user switch and b (2003)

I open Outlook and when I switch to another user (XP logoff/switch user) and open Outlook (on another account) and then switch back to the original user, Outlook refuses to show the content of the .pst file, Indicating that it is opened elsewhere. Did anybody experience the same problem and found a solution?

Log on to the different user and ensure the .pst file is closed from the Folder List. After doing so, ensure to use File, Exit (or File Exit and Log Off in older versions), not the x in the top right corner (this is a common error people make with Outlook, whenever any settings to the profile have been changed, you need to choose File, Exit). Log onto yourself again and see if the .pst will now open... good luck... trish

    Trish,
sorry that I did not make myself clear, but both users are using different .pst files. So it would not help to close the other users .pst file. Suppose I was using the same pst file for both users the second one using the file should have the error, not the one who first opened the file.
    Thanks for the suggestion though.
