    Keyboards

WOW No. 9.29, gift guide for Office lovers, leads off with a quick review of Microsoft-brand keyboards. Microsoft has made a usable keyboard or two over the years, but for my money, there is no better keyboard than the Northgate Omnikey and its reincarnation as the Avant keyboard. I don't think there has ever been a finer keyboard made for people who use their computers for writing...i.e., extensively. The keyboard is solid, easy on the hands and fingers, responsive, and programmable. It is made from "real" materials, not just plastic, and it was made to last. I have Northgates and also Avants, which I found at Lueck Data Systems, and I can't tell them apart. All outstanding.

Since I went looking for it, here is the link to the manufacturers site. Doesn't seem to work with the Mac <img src=/S/bummer.gif border=0 alt=bummer width=15 height=15>

Sorry to hear that it won't work with the Mac, but thanks for the link to the manufacturer.

Long ago, there was a time when men cursed and beat on the ground with sticks. It was called witchcraft.
    Today it is called golf!
