    Clear Print History

I know how to cancel a document that's been cued and sent to the printer, but I wonder if there's a file that contains the history of all printed documents that have been sent to the printer. If there is, where do I find it, and how do I delete the list collectively and individually?

    Re: Clear Print History

If you are using a heavy-duty network printer, or any other printer which offers this facility, then there may be software installed to keep track of copies printed with source, like an EPABX tracks calls made from every extension. This is beyond the control of Word.

If you are using Windows 2000 (or XP) then you can enable auditing of Print events and view the history in the Event log.

Enable this by Opening the printers folder, choosing "Server Properties" from the File menu, then Advanced > Log Spooler Information Events. You will now get an entry in the System Event log every time a document is printed. This includes the URL for web pages or the file name for word documents.
