    Mac to Win XP (WinXP)

My friend has a 10 year old Mac, which has never had the OS updated. (It's used for word processing.)
He wants to get a WinXP PC.
Has anybody used any programs to transfer Mac files to a PC?

The Macintosh operating system has had the built-in ability to write files in PC format for far more than 10 years.

Re: Mac to Win XP (WinXP)

I fear that it is so long ago that I switched from Mac to PC that I have forgotten. In System 7 (from about 1990), there was a system utility to write floppies in DOS format, I think. It became more integrated later on.

Let's hope that someone who knows more about Macs reads this thread.

Where is Bowlie when you need him?
    He's the resident MAC guru.
    Try sending him a PM to attract his attention, <img src=/S/brainwash.gif border=0 alt=brainwash width=15 height=15>

Re: Mac to Win XP (WinXP)

    Bob,
Thanks for the suggestions. Looking at the MACPC site, I think that it's for Mac OS X and the OS on this Mac is much earlier. It's probably about 7-10 years old.
I will take your Google suggestion and run with it.
