2 copies of XP Pro (XP Pro)

I thought I reformatted the HDD and installed winXP. Now I have 2 copies of win XP. Is there a safe way to remove the "old" copy and keep the new??

I would think the Windows installer would try very hard to prevent you from doing that. Do you mind giving some more info, like what are you seeing that makes you think you have two copies installed? I'm not (yet) sure how one would proceed.

With two partitions it is quite easy - on my laptop I have XP home on C: and XP Pro on D:

Actually, I reformatted the HDD and reinstalled the OS. Everything is fine now. One copy only. Thanks for the help.
