Locate it and open it in Word, edit, save, and close.

(Edited by tony55 on 21-Dec-04 20:25. oops - corrected a spelling mistake)
The easiest way is probably from within Word. (Office programs use the same custom dictionary)

Select Tools>Options..., on the Spelling & Grammar tab click the Custom Dictionaries button. This then gives you the option to modify the entries in your custom dictionary.

I don't need to exit Excel, or do I?

There is no need to exit Excel.

No. Also, though Tony's menu approach works fine, I actually prefer to directly open 'custom.dic' in Word as a text document, because you can use Find and Find-&-Replace and some other Word features.
