    Page X of Y, with TOC (2002/2003)

I have a document which has a table of contents. I am also using the "Page X of Y" text in the text of the document; the TOC is numbered differently. The "Y" counts all pages including the TOC, so the last page of the text is Page 23 of 43 (toc is 20 pages long).

Section break separates TOC and Text.

    Is there a way around?

Right-click the number of pages (in the section with the document text) and select Toggle Field Codes. You will see { NUMPAGES }. Change NUMPAGES to SECTIONPAGES, then right-click it and select Toggle Field Codes Again. You may have to press F9 to update the field.

    Hans - a short-cut <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

After changing any field as you describe - just press {F9} - it does the toggle for you directly and recalculates for good measure.
