    XP Home Alone (Home)

My Son recently bought someone's old computer with XPHome on it. I am contemplating upgrading the mother board and processor and keeping the drive. I would like to reformat the drive and install XPHome. Unfortunately we can not locate the disk and don't know if XPHome was an OEM install.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    John

What brand, make and model is this computer?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

    Dave,

It appears home grown (built from scratch)

Yes, a lot of OEM's use the Home version.

If you have NO disks, either a Windows installation disk or an OEM "recovery" disk, I'm afraid to tell you that I think you're in a position of (probably) having to buy a copy.

That is what I expected someone to say. I'll have to ask Santa to bring one.

Honestly, I've been good...just check your list.
