    Legibility of list items (2003)

    How can I make the items on a list large enough to be legible. When viewing the spreadsheet at 50%, the text on the sheet itself is legible but the items on all the drop-down lists are too small to read. (If it is relevant, I created the dropdowns through Data, Validation with the list range in the Source field). Increasing the font size on the lists themselves doesn't change the size of the items on the drop downs. Thanks for your help.

    I guess the easiest solution (you're not going to like this <g>) is to change the zoom back to 100 % and then use a smaller font for all texts in the cells and adjust the row and column sizes accordingly.

    As you may gather from Pieterse's reply, there is no way to modify the font size of the Validation dropdown list; it is built-in and fixed. The only combo box on a worksheet with customizable font size is the one from the Control Toolbox. This can be used to mimic validation, but it is a nuisance to use for more than a few cells.

    You could try with some code that hides and shows a combobox, as folows:
