Characters don't display in form (2003)

I frequently create an em-dash by holding Alt and keying in 0151. This and other characters have always displayed in a form, but now they don't. I'm sure there's a simple fix.

    Happy holidays, everyone!

Have you tried restarting Access, or if that doesn't help, restarting your PC?
Have you tried changing the font for the text box? The System font, for example, doesn't have an em-dash.
Does it occur in one form only, or in all forms in a database, or in all forms in all databases?
Does the em-dash work in other applications, such as Word or Excel?
