    Where's Woody?

    cnn

"A street littered with debris at Patong beach, Phuket."

    Isn't that where he is?

    Yes.

I'm praying as hard as I can - especially for Woody, but for everyone else in that impacted region as well. Join me if you can!

    Re: Where's Woody?

Your subject line took the words right out of my mouth. When I saw the news about the quake and then saw the report from Bangkok and the reports that Phuket had been possibly overwashed by the tidal wave, I came right here. Does any one know where Woody was last night and if he and his family are OK ???

This is a horrible tragedy of enormous scope. We will not know the extent of it for weeks, if not months.

I should probably let him post here himself, but given the hour in Oz... Claude has, and will continue trying to contact Woody. As far as I know Claude was up half the night (his time) on this topic. I'm sure he'll keep us informed as soon as he learns anything.

Thanks Al. Guess I'm just a bit anxious. I'll keep my fingers crossed and wait for Claude or Woody <img src=/S/crossfingers.gif border=0 alt=crossfingers width=17 height=16> himself to post.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed. Hopefully he will get word to Claude or someone. Even better maybe he'll post something himself soon!

The beach suffered a solid hit

I believe that Woody lives up the hill in Patong, so hopefully his property did not suffer as much as those operations close to the beach. I just found two links with plenty of recent pictures of the area. Check out http://www.abzinfo.com/tsunami_phuket_patong.html for images of the Patong area and http://www.abzinfo.com/tsunami_kata_karon.html for the beaches just to the south. It looks as if they're getting the place back together quite quickly. The earlier photos I saw (which included a boat that had been smashed to splinters by a bus!) looked pretty bad.

You can make a clickable link by placing <font face="Georgia"><!t><!/t></font face=georgia> before the URL, and <font face="Georgia"><!t><!/t></font face=georgia> after it. See <!help=19>Help 19<!/help> for more info.

Thanks Hans. I edited my post and you can see that it works. The "Help 19" you referenced seems to indicate a more simple procedure of just highlighting the text and clicking an icon, but I don't see the icon.

While composing or editing a post, there is a link saying 1-Click TagPanel above the editing area, to the right of the subject. Clicking this link opens a dialog with buttons for the "tags" you can insert into a post. See screenshot.
