    Prevent Editing (A2K SP3)

I have a frmCustomerEntry which allows the user to call up records to edit and also check to see if the customer is already in the database to prevent duplicate customer records. When the form is first called up the first record in the database is displayed and is locked to prevent it from being inadvertently edited. If the first record needed to be edited, the FindLast function must be used to call up the record for editing.

The problem is that if the operator types in a name that is not in the database, instead of using the pull down menu, it defaults to the first record in the database which is now unlocked and can be edited.

What I want to accomplish is to have the first record still locked if the FindLast search fails.

I have attached a stripped down copy of the database. Any assistance would be appreciated.

What if you set the Limit To List property of the combo to Yes ?
