The most common cause of this symptom is trying to schedule a task to run under a username that has no password. Task Scheduler requires a non-blank password for the user account that you specify.

I am sure that the account l have does not have a password.
How can l change the password on my account so it is non-blank.
Would it be possible to include a screen shot?

    Thanks
    Justin.

I don't have XP Home, and this is an area where the Home and Professional versions differ - so you may need to wait till someone else can show you a screenshot.

Try typing Control-Alt-Del and see if there is a change password option, I'm pretty sure that works for all versions. Alternatively try Start > Control Panel > User Accounts. Select the correct username and see if there is an option to create a password.

Control Panel, User Accounts, Change Account, Select the account, Create Password, and fill in the blanks and then select "Create Password" button at the bottom.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
