Follow up number in new document (Word XP Dutch)

    Goodmorning all,

Does anybody know a solution for the following?
I have to make a document for one of my (sales)users which has a follow-up number (I don't know the proper English word for that).
What I want is the following: when the user opens the document (for a new order) I want the followup number to increase from 1 to 2, when he opens a third, it has to increase from 2 to 3 and so on.
I know it is possible, but I can't seem to manage it...

I hope my question is clear!

    Many thanks in advance!

    Greetz,
    Daphne

    Hi Daphne,

You should create a template (sjabloon in Dutch). The user can create a new document from this template for each order. Creating sequentially numbered documents (such as invoices) on the Word MVP site explains how to use an AutoNew macro to obtain a new sequence number.

Post back if you have trouble filling in the details.
