    combine cells? (ms office 2000)

    If i have a setup with last name, first name, middle initial all in different cells is there a way to combine them into 1 single cell of just last name, firest name, middles initial???

    You can use & to concatenate cells in a formula. Say that

    A1 = last name (Jones)
    B1 = first name (Mary)
    C1 = middle initial (H.)

    The following formula will return "Jones, Mary H." (without the quotes)

    <code>=A1&", "&B1&" "&C1</code>

    Or if you prefer "Mary H. Jones"

    <code>=B1&" "&C1&" "&A1</code>
