    Lexmark Printer Problem

I have a both Lexmark 1100 and a Lexmark 2030 printer both of which work perfectly with all my Windows programs

    BUT

When I tried to use the printer with any of my DOS programs, which run fine within the WIN98SE2 environment, I find that neither printer would recognise any of my DOS programs' Print command

Is there any way that I can set up either/both of Lexmark printers to print at the DOS level ?

    Awaiting help

    Re: Lexmark Printer Problem

Not sure of the 1100 and 2030 printers, but the 3200 has an option to disbale DOS printing.

If your printers have a similar option, I can only suggest you disable one of them as there may be a clash.

    Hi,
<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.lexmark.com/US/Services/SelfService/FAQs/display/0,1197,MzgyXklua2pldCtUZWNobm9sb2d5XjExMDArQ29sb3I rSmV0cHJpbnRlcl5ET1MrNSUyRXgrb3IraGlnaGVyJTJDK0RPU w==,00.html>This</A> might be relevant - something about needing a PCL3 compliant driver to print from DOS - they recommend the HPDeskjet500 if your application supports it.
    Hope that helps.

    Re: Lexmark Printer Problem

    Hi

I discovered by accident that by dropping into a MSDOS window and doing a DIR >LPT1 command that this primed the Lexmark 1100 to recognose the Print command in my DOS program which I run in a Win98 window

    Anyway thanks for you comments

    Cheers n Beers
