    Removing Spaces etc (2003)

    On the attached in columns B, C & D the data has a gap in front of it which is stopping the subtotals adding up.
    How can I remove the spaces ?

    These are not usual spaces, probably other characters.

    Select the columns with numbers, press control-H, type a single space and hit replace all.
    Click in one of the cells with a number, select the first character there (looks like a space) press control-c.
    Now select the columns with numbers again, hit control h and select the find box. Hit control-v and make sure the replace box is empty. Now replace all.

    Those are not spaces. They are Ascii char(160)

    Use edit - replace
    Find: hold <alt> and enter 0160 from numeric keypad
    replace:
    leave blank or put in a "space" if it is used in other instances where you need a space
    <replace all>
