Imported emails show wrong date (Outlook 2003)

The email messages imported from Outlook Express on 12/24 all show email date received as 12/24. When open the email, the original sent date is displayed OK, but when sorting emails by date, all those appear as 12/24/04 no matter how far back they go. I doubt those dates can be changed to the original received date, but any suggestions out there?

    Happy New Year Ceric

Can you tell us how you imported the messages? Did you use the Import-Export option or did you simply copy the messages?

This will be helpful to determine what date stamp should be considered the correct date.

I used Import- Export. As to which date is correct, that's not in question if I understand your concern correctly. . The imported messages all show received on 12/24/04. When a message is opened, the correct date is shown in the message as the send date, which may be years earlier.

Try using Outlook Express to EXPORT your messages into Outlook, and all should work well. For some reason, Outlook munges the dates if you use its Import feature. Outlook Express does a better job exporting.

Thanks, Sgt. Rich. Exporting from Outlook Express put the messages in the correct date order
