row heights (2002)

How come my row heights don't always automatically reduce when I widen a column width enough to eliminate a line (say 2 lines become one)? Word wrap is on. Sometimes it sems like if i edit <F2> one of the cells in the offending row, then the row height will "snap down"

This is an old bug (or feature if you prefer <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>) that has been around since word wrap was introduced, I think. Usually, selecting the row(s), then Format | Row | AutoFit will correct it, but not always. Excel's word wrap it not perfect.
