    Before you consider anything as drastic as a reformat (unless that's what you want to do anyhow, of course) could you supply more details about the suspected "hijacking". I may be wrong, but what you describe as hiding in a bad cluster, then ambushing after a reformat, sounds like the stuff of urban myths to me.

    Hi Bob

    With any luck, you shouldn't have to do anything so drastic as reformatting your hard drive.

    Check my post Anti Adware, Spyware, Hijack for links referencing 'HijackThis' and/or do a Lounge Search in this forum on the word 'hijackthis' for more lots info.

    Have a Great day!!!

    I guess that is possible, but it is certainly not the most likely scenario. I believe one of your best bets would be to get HijackThis, AdAware, and Spybot S&D. If you use those first generally the problem will go away. Furthermore, if you can be more specific with your Hijack problems we could tell you how to manually disable some of the issues.

    {Add: I agree with Alan's more forcefull assessement of the "reformat" story. Sounds quite complicated for most script kiddies to accomplish!}
