Get MySQL data (XP Pro SP 1)

    Hi everyone,

Being html illiterate I have built my current site using FP XP.

My provider supports FP extensions and also PHP/MySQL.
I have included a MySQL database to be used (for starters) as a container to count downloads. This works, but now I would like to show the download count on my site.

I cannot for the life of me find out how to do that. I can show the download count on a php page, but that page then seems to be outside of the navigation structure which is managed by FP somehow.

    Any ideas please?

I'm assuming from this that you are using shared borders. Try going to the navigation view in FP and dragging the php page into the navigation structure.

In fact tht is what I did. But the way to get it to work is to first rename the php page to htm, then add it to the navigation structure and then rename it back to htm. AFter an edit, the same process is needed.
    Thanks.

    My that sounds annoying!
Did you know that you can add content manually to the shared border area? That might avoid the problem.
Alternately, you can make your own link bar without referring to the navigation view. (see pic)

Yes, I know you can add stuff there manually, but that defeats the purpose a bit because the thing that is not working is a page banner, which should update according to the Navigation tree.

Seriously considering to get rid of the FP nav tree and merging to a self built thing........
