Uninstall WinXP Pro frm WinXP HE (1)

I have Windows XP Home Edition and then I installed Windows XP Professional. I don't like it so now I cannot uninstall the XP Professional....Any advice on how to do this would be appreciated.

I did not get an uninstall nor is it listed in the Settings Remove Panel for me to remove..

First of all Princess, why do you not like XP Pro? To all intents and purposes, in normal use it's essentially the same. If we knew what you don't like about it, then it may be easier to work around that than potentially cause major problems trying to remove Pro.

As to whether removal is even possible, I don't know, but I'm sure other Loungers will have the answer to that one...

If you installed XP Pro as an Upgrade to XP Home, it can only be uninstalled under certain conditions. Did XP Pro ask to back up your XP Home installation as part of installing it? All XP Pro Upgrade programs that I have seen have stated that XP Pro cannot be uninstalled. If your XP Pro installation was the same (as the ones I have seen), then the only way you would be able to get XP Home back would be to reinstall it.

I'm curious as well about why you want to remove XP Pro. It's essentially the same program as Home only a bit more powerful. I do agree wit Unkamunka that if you want XP Home back you will have to install it again, if XP Pro will allow you to do a "downgrade" installation. It should.
