    DRWTSN32 (XP SP2)

Have Dell Dimension 2300; Win XP Home SP2; AVG 7; Spybot S&D; AdAware; Hijack This.....

DRWTSN32 has stopped logging errors.....Don't know why....Last entry 11/24/04......I've never done anything to it; I access the log for info only....
Could it be it's reached it's max capacity, since I've never erased anything in it.....??

FYI---Event Log seems to be functioning properly---giving daily reports (including warnings and errors)....

    Any help greatly appreciated.....Thanx......Carol

    Re: DRWTSN32 (XP SP2)

You might find some helpful information here.

"The drwtsn32.log file is appended each time a program error occurs. If there is an existing drwtsn32.log file, and a new error occurs, the new information is added to the existing file. If there is no drwtsn32.log file, a new one is generated. For this reason, after providing a drwtsn32.log file to the appropriate people, delete the file. In the event that a new error occurs, a new drwtsn32.log file is generated.

Or learn all about Dr. Watson here.
Using the findstr command against the drwtsn32.log file can help pinpoint applicable information for diagnosing the problem and for log file gathering."[/i]

    Re: DRWTSN32 (XP SP2)

Hi DocWatson.......That's exactly the point.......No application errors have been appended in drwtsn32 log since 11/24/04......Compared to The Event Log which shows application errors as recently as 1/9/05.......???......I've never deleted the drwtsn32 log so the history goes back to 12/2002 (when I purchased the computer)......So, my thought was---It had reached "capacity" on 11/24/04....
I'l do as you suggest----Delete the drwtsn32 log and see if a new one is created the next time there's an error.......thanx so much for your help and the references to cisco.......I appreciate your time........

    Re: DRWTSN32 (XP SP2)

Hi Doc Watson....I deleted the drwtsn32.log on 1/11/05...(made a copy first and saved it as a .txt document in Word as back-up).....
Since 1/11/05, Event Viewer has recorded 6 Application errors---drwtsn has not created a new log....
I did find an important piece to this puzzle===On 11/24 (the date drwtsn stopped appending), I installed HiJackThis......
Any suggestions on how to get drwtsn back??..... Thanx

"Dr. Watson is included in the Windows XP operating system. If you want to use it, you must install it as your default de######. To do this, go to your Windows Start menu, select Run. In Open, type: drwtsn32 -i] (you can copy and paste this command into the Run box if that is less likely to cause a typo)

Complete instructions, with screenshots, for installing and configuring Dr. Watson can be found here.
(Yep, it's the same site I directed you to before.)

Hi Doc Watson.....Did as you suggested......It worked just as described......I had tried doing this before but missed putting the space before the "-1" part.......I'll monitor it so I can hopefully get back to resolving the Application Errors that I'm getting.......Thanx so much for your help.......This isn't the first time you've been a savior......Thanx again.........Carol

    Doc

I think the OP meant "saviour" as in the following sign:

    In French swimming-pool:
SWIMMING FORBIDDEN IN THE ABSENCE OF A SAVIOUR
