Removing Combining Paragraphs (Word 2002 SP2)

I received a document where each line ends in a paragraph marker. I want to reformat it, combining lines into appropriate paragraphs. Other than manually removing each paragraph marker, is there a command to replace "a paragraph marker" with "a space"?

You can use Find & Replace. In that dialog a paragraph mark is represented by ^p

If you put ^p in the find what box and a space in the replace with box it will replace all paragraph marks with a space.

To find/replace other special characters click on the "More" button, then click on "Special".

In addition to Tony's excellent reply, you can find an overview of special characters you can use in Find/Replace in <post#=421558>post 421558</post#>.

Just in case you have numerous real paragraphs (that are separated by double paragraph marks), there is a 3 step process that replaces a single paragraph with a space & a double paragraph with a single paragraph.
    1. Bring up the Replace dialog box (Ctrl+H).
    2. Find: ^13^13 <big><font color=red><code>^13 is the code for finding a paragraph mark</code></font color=red></big>
    Replace: %%% <big><font color=red><code>This is a string that shouldn't be in your document</code></font color=red></big>
    3. Click Replace All <big><font color=red><code>Ignore the mess that appears</code></font color=red></big>
    4. Find: ^13
    Replace: space <big><font color=red><code>use an actual space</code></font color=red></big>
    5. Click Replace All <big><font color=red><code>This replaces your end of line paragraph marks with a space</code></font color=red></big>
    6. Find: %%%
    Replace: ^p <big><font color=red><code>This replaces the nonsense string %%% with a single paragraph mark</code></font color=red></big>
    Hope this helps,
