    Favorites (6--)

    Can anyone tell me how to add a favorite website URL directly into the favorites folder, rather then opening IE and doing it? I have a list of sites (30+) that I would like to enter without opening IE and going to each web site.

    A favorite is just a standard shortcut in your Favorites folder (in my Windows XP installation, it's Cocuments and Settings<username>Favorites). You can open this folder in Windows Explorer, right-click in the right-hand pane, select New > Shortcut, and enter an URL. If you visited it recently, Windows will complete it automatically.

    Open Notepad and enter the following two lines:

    [Internet Shortcut]
    URl=http://www.wopr.com/

    Save to your Favorites folder (location as per {profile=HansV]'s post) using Save As as

    "wopr.url"

    The quotation marks are essential. You will now have WOPR (the main Woody site) as a Favorite.

    You can do this for all 30 of your webistes.
