Why are trying to open a "Folder"?
You need the program to open a FILE?

Outlook Express will only work on "eml", "News", "dbx" and etc types of files.

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Isn't there a browse button? Can't you use it to navigate to C:Program FilesOutlook Expressmsimn.exe?

Thanks, I just learned something. But why does Outlook express Backup using .dbx ? Why not .eml ?

Because the backup is a "data base" and not a single email message. The .eml file extension specifies that the files is an email message. The .dbx file extension specifies it is a database file used by OE. While OE can "open" both of these file types, they are not one in the same thing.

I understand now about .dbx extension. It's used for OE and the Backup folder. I was trying to open the file and that's not what it's for. Once it's back in OE then it can be opened. Thanks for clearing that up for me <img src=/S/thumbup.gif border=0 alt=thumbup width=15 height=15>
