Syncing with Nokia PC Suite (OL 2003 / SP1)

I can't get my Nokia phone syncing with OL 2003 after installing SP1.
It works fine with with OL2003 before SP1. I've got it working again by uninstalling and reinstalling without SP1, but with SP1 installed I get "Outlook: Failed to open Outlook".
My searches found several links to this error, but none explaining why it was happening, nor how to fix it.... :-(
I haven't wasted my time asking Nokia. That'd be sillier than asking MSoft.
I had an idea that the softies kindly tightened access to the OL engine with SP1, and thought that might be stopping Nokia without telling it why??

    Thanks for any suggestions...

I ran into the same problem with Nokia PC Synch and a couple other problems after applying a comparable SP to Outlook 2000, and your guess as to the cause is right. The solution is to install a little shareware program I found called Express ClickYes. You can use it to tell Outlook that it's OK for PC Synch or another program to access your Outlook mailbox.

    Hans,

    >> ClickYes is actually freeware, not shareware. <<

You're right. I tend to think of freeware as a type of shareware, so that's how I usually refer to it.

Re: Syncing with Nokia PC Suite (OL 2003 / SP1)

Thanks Guys, but this is not the problem I'm having now with SP1.
I've been using ClickYes for months now, and I'm used to that behaviour with anything trying to access Outlook.
What's happening now is different - the dialogue asking if you want to allow access does NOT appear. It looks like there's another layer of security been added such that the Nokia software doesn't even get that far. The error message pops up very quickly as if Nokia just got no response at all, whereas I've had it wait more than 30 mins for me to click "allow" when the old dialogue pops up.
    Any other suggestions eagerly sought.
